Want You Dead – Peter James

Published in the UK  June 2014.

Single girl, 33, redhead and smouldering, love life that’s crashed and burned. Seeks new flame to rekindle her fire. Fun, friendship and–who knows–more maybe?
When thirty-year old Red Cameron met handsome, charming and rich thirty-five year old Bryce Laurent through an online dating agency, it was instant attraction at first sight. But as their love blossomed, the truth about his past began to emerge, and with it his dark side. Everything he has told Red about himself turns out to be a tissue of lies, and her infatuation with him gradually turns to terror.
Within a year, and under police protection, she evicts him from her flat and her life. But far from being over, her nightmare is only just beginning. For Bryce is obsessed and besotted with her. He intends to destroy, by fire, everything and everyone she has ever known and loved–and then her, too. It’s up to Detective Superintendent Roy Grace to stop him before it’s too late…

My thoughts

We are at the tenth book of the amazing Roy Grace series. I have such a soft spot for Roy and his colleagues. I also know and love Brighton, having spent half my life there. This is a WONDERFUL WONDERFUL read. Peter James is on top form and just goes from strength to strength with each book! Anyone who hasn’t read this series should go out and buy every single book NOW.

Thank you so much to the publishers and Netgalley for letting me read this wonderful book. I am a massive fan of this series and I couldn’t wait to read what happens next to Roy.

The latest Roy Grace is Peter James at his absolute best. We get a gripping story of revenge and arson. A man obsessed with revenge on his ex, Red, causing murder and chaos in Brighton and the surrounding areas. There are many twists and unexpected turns, that made me gasp with surprise and shed a few tears. My heart literally stopped with the unexpected twist Peter James throws at us.

As usual, anyone who knows and loves Brighton and Hove will recognise so much, from Kemp Town to Central Hove. It is just so incredibly well written that you can feel and taste Sussex.

To any Peter James fans out there you will just love it!!!!!

A more than five star read. RECOMMENDED

About Northern Crime

Reviewer with a mind of her own. This is a collection of book reviews, which started in 2014. Mostly crime and odd other genres thrown in. Some I loved. Some I loathed. You get the picture.
