Murphy and Rossi are waiting, for as long as it takes, for a suspect to come home. And in this quiet moment, the conversation turns to past cases they can never forget …
This is a short story, set in between Bloodstream and the new novel, Then She Was Gone.
Murphy and Rossi are sat in a car, killing time. Murphy shares with his partner, the one case that has never left him. It is a horrific story of hidden violence in the home and a child.
I’m not really a fan of short stories. It is like being given a sliver of cake, when you are craving the whole blumming thing. However this would make a great introduction to Murphy and Rossi, and give you a taste of Luca Veste’s storytelling skills. This is a truly excellent series. He really has a way of pulling you into the scene and capturing your imagination.
Murphy and Rossi are fine Liverpudlian cops, who are in need of a few more fans. Check it out!
